Rebecca Lee Peery’s Artist Statement

As an Artist I paint a variety of subject matter from my life experiences; places I’ve traveled to the people I meet. I want my art to be relatable. The goal is to evoke emotion as it tells a story which hopefully uplifts and brings joy to the viewer.

Looking at nature is a spiritual experience for me as I see Gods handy work in everything. I analyze how the sun hits the leaves and where the shadows fall, and if the colors are warm or cool.

I am in awe of our beautiful world from the minute I wake up in the morning to going to bed at night. There is magnificence in everything I look at from the desert to the tropics. My heart overflows with gratitude to see it all through an artist’s eye, and I hope that spirit is felt in my paintings.
