Statement
I am a professional photographer who sees beauty in everything and loves to photograph the world around me. I'm a seasoned traveler, and am often found exploring, armed with my camera capturing the wonders of wildlife and the splendor of the great outdoors. I have a Ph.D. in earth science and worked for more than 42 years creating maps from aerial photography and interpreting satellite imagery for the government. I believe this is the basis for my love of the earth, its wonderous mysteries, and its miraculous surprises. I love to capture its fascinating beauty from explosive volcanoes to the intricate structure of the most minute wildflower; and the challenges nature brings us, along with the beauty it mesmerizes us with. I'm a graduate of the New York Institute of Photography and my award-winning photographs have appeared in international publications, books, and popular magazines, such as Outdoor Photographer. I feel fortunate to have been able to photograph in many unique locations, including Africa, Norway, the Arctic, Iceland, Alaska, Switzerland, Germany, Italy, Canada, Hawaii, and many locations throughout the United States and Canada. Beauty and wonder are everywhere and we have been blessed with the opportunity to discover it.
